COVID dilemma - Virus v/s violence

Ideas - con.cea.led

1477 cases were registered in India against domestic violence in between March 25- May 31, 2020.

Now, these cases are just those which are on record. In times like these when people are struggling with the NEW NORMAL. There is another side to this pandemic where women around the globe are miserable in their own home. The virus will eventually be treated but what about this mental virus? Is there no expiry date for domestic violence?

Rather live on Mars or Earth?

Ideas - con.cea.led

Instead of spending zillions on terraforming Mars, why can't we spend the same money and technology to make Earth habitable for at least, if not, the next 1000 years?

Is it too much to ask from ambitious earthlings that wants to colonize Mars where humans won't last more than a few minutes without any aids?

What would you choose?

Spirituality unites, science divides

Ideas - con.cea.led

Science teaches us to divide everything to understand something - be it dissecting an organism, or reverse engineering a product or service. But spirituality, on the other hand, preaches us to look holistically. It urges us to understand how symbiotically the varied life forms or systems work as one.

I think we need to change our perspective to avoid hotchpotch solutions that create even more devastating problems.

Internships - Experience or Exploitation?

Ideas - con.cea.led

Recently HRD Ministry of India has released National Education Policy. Apart from various benefits ministry has already made internships mandatory for different niche's.

As much as it is applauding most internships no longer adds value to a career nowadays.

Students are often stuck with unpaid meaningless projects just for a piece of paper.

By the time they come out of it, they are stuck with modern slavery. It is important that the young minds are able to differentiate between a work experience and exploitation.

Pay for private data?

Ideas - con.cea.led

Companies love fetching vast amounts of data by shadowing our every conversation, purchase or move. And this is done on the pretext of ‘improving our services’.

But the kind of data they collect is scary. They are able to deduce even the most intimate details of our lives, which we wouldn’t even be comfortable sharing with a close human.

Shouldn’t corporates pay us for using our data? Or at least give us a fair option to opt out of such ‘improved’ service?

Paradox of humans and robots

Ideas - con.cea.led

Industrial revolution has created robots out of humans. Workers are forced to assemble within seconds at utmost accuracy. This is what machines are great at, not humans.

And ever since Industrial Revolution 4.0, we have been trying to humanize robots. Yes, you can teach them when to be happy, and which facial movements will make them look happy. But how will they ever understand why they 'should' feel happy?

Why can't we just let humans be human and robots be robots?
